HELLO I’M KAT
I’ve headed up global creative campaigns across games, tech, fashion, and luxury - translating big, often chaotic, ideas into sharp and emotionally resonant work that people and players care about. How do I know it’s working? Community kudos, rising DAU, and increased revenue.
Right now, I lead the global Creative Marketing team at Cloud Imperium Games, directing filmmakers, writers, strategists, and capture artists for Star Citizen and upcoming AAA game Squadron 42. Over the past few years, I’ve tried a little of everything - from turning Manchester Central into a space hangar, crafting cinematic trailers and in-game feature deep-dives, unifed previously siloed creative functions and rebuilt player trust through feature and narrative-driven storytelling.
Before I helped steer the brand direction for spacefaring MMOs, I was at the helm of actual seafaring luxury yachts so yes, I know my way around commanding ships, digital or otherwise. (A captain joke felt inevitable here, so consider this its redacted ghost.)
I’m Manchester based and have spent my career running teams and campaigns across time zones bringing global voices together to build work that’s bigger than the sum of its parts.
I’ve put scary swear words on billboards in other countries, led creative for live events in LA, and culturalised campaigns for the Middle East. You name it, I’ve probably done it - usually with a MacBook on my knee, a Switch in my rucksack (Minecraft is my current cosygame of choice), and a coffee in my reusable travel mug. Hate to break it to you - I’m an annoying eco-vegan-nerd who will argue that ‘Maybe Thanos had a point’ after a rum and soda.
The TDLR is that I bring a real mix of grounded, ego-free creative leadership, a sharp instinct for buyer and consumer-first storytelling and a track record of delivering work that moves both hearts (Klingon) and drives KPIs. I know how to lead teams through internal (and external!) ambiguity, scale big ideas across formats from absolute chaos and build team creative cultures where brilliant work (and people who who make it) can thrive.
So that’s me. Navigating the waters of Star Citizen has been an experience quite like no other: wild, weird and deeply rewarding. I’ve learned a lot from the community, the complexity, and the ambition of the project, and I'll carry that experience with me into the bloody fray....or wherever I'll end up next.
If you're up for a chat about what I can bring to the table (or boat),
I’d love to chat
